Who can volunteer with The Giving Family? Do I need an invite?

Anyone with the heart to give back is welcome because absolutely no invite is required. The Giving Family is an open, global collective of expats, UAE locals, families, and professionals. There are no religious barriers, no age restrictions, and no applications. If you want to stand on the packing lines or hand out meals to the workers who built this city, you belong here.

How can I volunteer with The Giving Family in Dubai?

If you want to volunteer in Dubai, we make the process entirely frictionless. There are no registration forms, no induction programs, and no memberships. Whether it is your first time or your fiftieth, you can simply show up to our next event. We announce our exact packing locations, timings, and Google Map pins directly in our Instagram story @thegivingfamily.

What exactly should I expect on a volunteer packing day?

Expect fast-paced energy, music, and an instant community. We operate massive, efficient human assembly lines to package thousands of hot meals. You will help count, sort, pack, and stack food containers before loading them onto our distribution vehicles. It is high-energy, hands-on, and deeply rewarding. There is a job for everyone, whether you are 6 years old or 60.

Can I bring my children to volunteer with me?

Absolutely. We believe volunteering is the best classroom for children. We encourage parents to bring their kids along to help pack and distribute meals. It’s a safe, supervised environment where children can learn the value of empathy, hard work, and community service firsthand.

What is the dress code for the distributions?

Wear comfortable, practical clothing and closed-toe shoes. You will be moving quickly, lifting crates, and working around hot food, so sneakers are mandatory, no sandals or heels. Out of respect for the conservative settings of the labor communities we visit, please wear modest clothing that provides respectful coverage.

How are my donations managed and allocated?

We operate on a 100% donation-to-distribution model. Because our core operational costs (like logistics and warehousing) are often covered by our generous corporate partners, every dirham you donate goes directly toward the purchase of fresh food ingredients, packaging, and logistical distribution for the workers.
